Swedish Interior designer Richard Lindvall is the creative, behind one of the Stockholm’s favorite Eateries Usine located in Södermalm.
The award-winning designer worked closely with owners
and restauranteurs Tim Karlsson and Michael Andreasson to transform the 2000sq meter former sausage factory in the heart of Stockholm into the sophisticated modern space, combining a Restaurant Bistro 38, Bar Poche 36, café, takeaway, reception and conference areas.
Before remodeling took place, the building was used by the Swedish Tax Agency, hence the stripping of the entire interior allowing for exposed steel beams and a concrete foundation.
Importing, sourcing, and custom building his objects and furnishings from China, France, and Lithuania to create warmth and a timeless ambiance in contrast to the industrial elements of concrete and steel, Richard keeps the interior concept minimal yet Scandanavian.
Carefully selected superior materials like Maple wood custom millwork and cognac leather upholstery, white tiles and black iron along with an accent color, Valcromat in orange and brown for table tops, side tables, cabinet doors, and menus soften the 48 tons of concrete used in the reconstruction. Floors, ceilings, two bars, reception desk, a large sofa table and a 3,5-meter wash basin in the restroom all made from concrete!!
A photo art gallery curated by Dennis Bolmberg resides along the walls of the generous foyer seamlessly connecting all the dining areas.

The food at Usane can only be described as award winning as the interior, so if you  happen to be in Stockholm, be sure to book this culinary delight and be taken in by the sohistacation that is Usane!!
