Its been another fabulous year of incredible portraiture artwork competing for one of Australia's favourite and most prestigious annual art award The Archibald Prize! This year Geelong Gallery was host to the 2018 regional tour, and it was a without a doubt an exceptional venue to showcase some of the many prominent Australian Art Entrees.

Dee Smart, James Powditch, Julian Meagher and Robert Hannaford were just some of the art veterans who have their works on display, alongside fantastic new first time entrants Amber Boardman, Vanessa Stockard, and peoples choice award winner Anne Middleton for her almost lifelike portrait of Guy Pierce.

The Archibald Prize is undoubtedly one of my favourite events a fusion of Australian art and culture delightfully put together, and I highly recommend you see it before it ends.

The Archibald Prize 2018 is currently exhibiting from 22 September 2018 to 18 November 2018

This year's Archibald Prize Winner is Yvette Coppersmith for her self-portrait and tribute to her favourite artist George Lambert.
